Getting Around Boston

Driving in Boston can be a challenge as the streets were not built on a grid pattern. As such, many Boston residents and most students commute using the extensive public transit system, which includes bus service, subways, ferries, and light commuter rail. The Massachusetts Bay transportation authority (MBTA) oversees this system, which is collectively known as the “T”.

Students at MCPHS can purchase 20% discounted semester passes through the college. Applications are due at the beginning of each semester. For more information, email campus.life@mcphs.edu.

To start planning your commute, visit the Trip Planner on the MBTA website or download one of the MBTA mobile apps which provide route information and schedules.

Bikes

Boston has an extensive network of bike lanes throughout the city, as well as more than 1,500 bicycle parking stations. For information about bicycling in Boston, check out boston.gov/departments/boston-bikes. The MBTA also maintains “park & pedal” facilities for bicyclists. For information about taking bikes on the t, “park & pedal” facilities, and registering your bike, check out the MBTA website.
